Service Description

Creativity is simply being open to challenging ideas and different ways of thinking – it is not the sole property of the arts practitioners. Creativity is an essential asset for all children striving to stay motivated and do well in their studies at school and sixth form, as well as for the young person seeking to succeed at university and/or the workplace. Dr Steve Hannon's seminar is an introduction to how parents can help to develop their child’s creative thinking skills.  We will discuss the following questions and explore practical approaches to inspire and enable your child to tap into her/his creative thinking:  •   Creativity – What is it? •   How come some people seem to have it when others do not? •   What is their secret and how can it be accessed? •   What ‘thinking tools’ are there? •   Which ones are right for my child? Aims of this seminar: •    Learn how to apply a variety of thinking methods, •    Open up the possibilities of using creative thinking tools, •    Generate innovative/diverse ideas on parental and educational questions, issues and problems, •    Experience how to apply and personalise these tools to your own context and family, •    Produce new ways of considering a situation that demands a different approach to reach a good outcome, •    Springboard into the empowering realm of creativity, •    Unleash your child’s creative potential.
